Our Processes - Tumblers
We utilize two different methods when creating our hand crafted tumblers. Our first, and main method, is using epoxy.
Epoxy Method:
The epoxy we use is a 1:1 ratio epoxy. We use double walled stainless steel tumblers for the base, and then utilize different techniques to create the tumblers of your dreams!
Epoxy can be tricky, as it requires precise measurements, a specific temperature and humidity range to cure properly, and takes several hours to cure to the touch. It can take several days to complete one tumbler using this method, however, this method allows for the use of glitter, alcohol inks, and paints to be added to the cup. Additionally, we can offer several different sizes of cups. Anywhere from 8 oz to 30 oz cups. This method means the cups will be slightly heavier and they are not dishwasher safe. These cups will also be more expensive, given the time and materials that go into them.
Our secondary method that we use is sublimation.
Sublimation Tumblers:
Similar to the t-shirt process with sublimation, this method we use special printer, ink, and special treated cups. These cups are still double walled stainless steel, they are just coated with sublimation coating so we can add the images to them.
Once the image is printed, we use a heat press to burn the image onto the cup. This method is faster, dishwasher safe (although, we still recommend hand washing to prevent the image from fading), and lighter as there are no layers of epoxy. However, the sizes are limited. Right now, we are only offering 20 oz straight cups - but we're looking to expand!
